ISDR Working Groups

The ISDR includes working groups that accomplish goals of our society. Working groups include council members and are open to all society members.
What group would you like to join?
Aims of the ISDR Group – The role of this working group is to raise the profile of ISDR as a dynamic, supportive scientific society with benefits for all members. The group coordinator is Rosa Trobajo and includes Andrea Burfeid-Castellanos, Paul Hamilton, Anrich Kock, Shinya Sato, Shigeki Mayama, David Williams, Xu Chen, Becky Bixby, and Marco Cantonati.
ISDR Governance Group – The Governance Working Group aims to keep the IDSR’s constitution and associated documentation in line with UK law (ISDR is registered as a charity here) and also promote high standards of behaviour amongst members and officers. Martyn Kelly is the coordinator and the group includes Eileen Cox, Ingrid Jüttner, Keely Mills, and Bart Van de Vijver.
ISDR Web Group – This group works to maintain the society website and develop content that is connects and supports opportunities for our members. Sarah Spaulding coordinates the group with Andrea Burfeid-Castellanos, Ingrid Jüttner, Maria Kahlert, Anrich Kock, Keely Mills, Somayyeh Kheiri, Xu Chen, and Carlos Wetzel.
International Diatom Symposium Group – We hold international meetings every other year, or variations on that theme as driven by world events. The symposium group works to coordinate the international meeting and support local organizers in planning symposium events. Past international hosts share their knowledge with organizing committees. The symposium group is coordinated by Jonathan Taylor and includes Andrea Burfeid-Castellanos, Mark Edlund, Paul Hamilton, Regine Jahn, Richard Jordan, Anrich Kock, Shinya Sato, Rosa Trobajo, Bart Van de Vijver, Linda Medlin, and Xavier Benito.
Diatom Collections Group – Herbarium collections hold valuable type materials, yet they are often threatened by institutional changes. The collections group is coordinated by Bart Van de Vijver and includes Mark Edlund, Paul Hamilton, Regine Jahn, David Mann, David Williams, Linda Medlin, Tanja Schuster, Carlos Wetzel, Marco Cantonati, and Charlotte Goeyers.
