Hengduan Mountains are located in the southeast of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is the general name of all north-south mountains in the west of Sichuan and Yunnan provinces and the east of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in the world. “The Atlas of Diatoms in Hengduan Mountains” adopts the latest international diatom classification system, and describes in detail 75 genera and 687 species of diatoms (including subspecies) collected from various water bodies in the Hengduan Mountains, including the Latin name of each diatom, identification, morphological characteristics, etc., and optical microscope photos.
